Ancient Wisdom acupuncture, offers you extremely fine, pre-sterilised, stainless steel needles which are inserted into your energy system at a series of appropriately selected acupuncture points on your bodies surface to restore your internal health.
The benefits of acupuncture causes changes in the pattern of your energy system which results in beneficial changes that take place at the physical level. It is widely understood that the practitioner’s own energy system is also a factor in the acupuncture process, the needle having the effect of becoming an extension of that energy system

Even in ancient times Chinese herbal medicines were in use as far back as 200 BC so it has more than proved it’s worth over thousands of years.In acupuncture if anything occurs to weaken or block this energy flow in any way, then the result will be an energetic imbalance that in turn will manifest itself in the physical organism as disease or illness.
This, of course, provides the basis for simple acupressure treatment. It is likely that we instinctively use a form of acupressure techniques when suffering from a minor disharmony in everyday life
What happens in the clinic
Once the client’s medical history has been taken and they have answered questions about the nature of the medical complaint, I select 3-5 acupuncture points to insert the acupuncture needles painlessly, these remain in place for around 20 minutes or so.
The insertion of very fine, pre-sterilised, disposable needles at specific acupuncture points on the body to help restore health on a physical, psychological and emotional level.
During an acupuncture session, clients often describe a feeling of calm and relaxation…..and may even fall asleep but each person is different. During the insertion of needles, some people feel nothing, while others experience a small pinch and then a sensation of numbness, heaviness, cramping or tingling.
Acupuncture needles are solid and very fine, unlike needles used for vaccinations or to take blood, and therefore cause very little pain. At the end of a session needles are removed painlessly.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Each person is unique therefor the number of treatments required may depending vary.

- Clients in general good health recovery may be quicker.
- The adherence of the patient to the instructions provided will influence the speed of their recovery.
Initially treatments may be administered close together and then become less frequent as the condition improves.
